Identify the cause of the problem
Not being able to create a master may appear in one of two ways:
- Cannot click on 'Create'.
- Error message after clicking on 'Create'.
The causes for each possibility and how to correct them are explained below.
Cannot click on 'Create'
To be able to create a master, it must have a name and belong under at least one group. The 'Save' button cannot be clicked until both of these conditions are met.
Error message after creating a master
After you click 'Create' rather than seeing the word processor appear, the master page is still displayed and an error message appears:
This message means that another master that is accessible or archived, has the same name as the one you want to create. You must choose another name for this master or rename the first one.
If you choose to rename the preexisting master, don’t forget that it may be an archived master. Remember to click to be able to see all of them.
