Does your client or the tender rules impose a strict page limit on the technical brief? Before finalizing and sending your document, you can check the number of pages in an instant using Outline mode.
Instructions for use:
- Access Outline mode in your document editor.
- You will see :
➡️ The total number of pages in your dissertation,
➡️ The number of pages per part, which is very useful for balancing your content.
- If you modify the structure (moving, duplicating, etc.), remember to click on the "Recalculate" button (it only becomes active if a modification is detected).
- The calculation of pages is based on your export parameters (blank pages, dividers, etc.). If your document contains structural errors or is badly formatted, an alert is displayed and the count is suspended.
💡Good to know: The total number of pages per part does not always correspond to the sum of the sub-parts. A sub-chapter can start in the middle of a page, which avoids double counting.
Before sending your document, a quick glance at the Outline mode will allow you to check that you are staying within the imposed limit. It's a quick step, but essential if you are to meet your client's expectations!
