Using Merge Fields
In XaitProposal, merge fields are used to facilitate document customization.
A merge field takes the form of a code. When our document is exported, this code retrieves a value from the variable data we've previously set up.
This automates the process of filling in the information. Merge fields can be found in the :
- Page layout, in the positions specified in the graphic charter*.
- Document content, in the positions specified by the master used. Merge codes can also be freely inserted by the user via word processing.
Merge field values can be entered by users in :
- Folder forms,
- Document forms,
- Document MCQs.
Merge fields are set by the Content Manager in the Merge Fields administration page and in the Master MCQ.
Example of merge fields on the cover page:
*The values of the merge fields in the page layout depend on the graphic charter settings. Any modification or creation of merge fields associated with the layout cannot be done without the intervention of Xait.
