It is possible to modify a heading level and shift its entire hierarchy, upwards and downwards, in a single action. This feature is useful if you need to apply a mandatory outline, integrate Word content with a different structure, or adapt an element from the knowledge base (KB).
How to modify a complete hierarchy?
Select the heading block you wish to modify (Section, Chapter, Sub-chapter, Theme).
Click on the level change menu and choose the target level
A sub-menu opens and offers you two choices:
Modify the title only: modifies only the selected level
Modify the entire level: allows you to shift the entire hierarchy.
A confirmation modal is displayed.
Confirm the level modification by clicking on "Apply"
For example, here we transform the section heading Our Proposal into a chapter, modifying its entire hierarchy:
Block behavior:
Title conversion: If there is no lower heading level available (theme), the title will transform into a paragraph. In this case, the old title will appear in bold to visually distinguish it
Standard content: Paragraphs, images, tables, and attachments do not change type, they are simply moved to follow their associated headings.
Impact of the action: This change in structure results in the deletion of archived elements on these blocks, as well as the archiving of comments and instructions linked to them.
Exceptions and specific rules
Collaborative tasks: If the level you want to move down (or one of its children) has an active task, you will not be able to modify the entire hierarchy. The option will be grayed out and will display a no-entry sign with an explanatory message.
Integration from the KB: If you use a block from the knowledge base, when clicking on "Use", the list of levels will appear. You will thus be able to choose to insert it at the level of your choice directly from the menu, even before the block arrives in your editor.
