Open the folders list

Select a folder
- Select the group in which you wish to create your document.
- You can:
- Create a new folder > click here to read the full article: How to create a folder?
- Select an existing folder > click on the folder/subfolder to which your document will be attached: the folder list will refocus on this folder.
Create a document
In the folder in which the document is to be created, click on the 'Create' icon , then on 'Create an RFI document'.
NB: You must be in a folder to create a document. The 'Create a document' action cannot be clicked if you are in a group.
Complete the RFI document form
Step 1: General RFI document information
- Select the type of RFI document
- Initial RFI: this designates a document considered to be the 1st version. It usually comes from a master.
- Version: this designates a document considered as V2 of another document. It is generally derived from the duplication of an initial document.

Model: a reference document for subjects that do not require the creation of a master and its MCQ.
- Enter the name of your RFI document.
- Select the language used for your RFI document.
- Once all mandatory fields have been completed, you can proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Merge fields
All merge fields that have been completed in the file are automatically included in the RFI document form.
You can modify the merge fields if you need. The modifications will only be taken into account for this RFI document.
Once all mandatory fields have been completed, you can move on to the next step.
Import an Excel file
- Click in the loading area
- A window opens, allowing you to select the file you wish to import from your workstation. You can also drag and drop the file into the loading area.
- Once the file has been imported, click on 'Create RFI document ' to confirm creation.
Identifying questions and answers in XaitRFI
Once the Excel spreadsheet has been imported, its structure is automatically transferred to XaitRFI.
For each tab, you must now identify which cells correspond to the questions, and which cells correspond to their answers:
- Select one or more questions at a time, then click on
- Then select the corresponding cell or cells, and click:
The selected questions and answers appear on the right-hand side of the screen.
3. Once all the questions and their associated answers have been identified, click on the 'Save' button.
4. The Excel questionnaire then appears in the text editor, retaining its structure.
NB: You can apply a selection mask when your Excel questionnaire contains several answer cells per question.
