Setting parameters for questions
Below are the possible parameters for a question:
- Response required: is the user required to answer this question?
- Several responses possible: can the user tick several answers for this question? Or does it need to have one answer only?
- Conditions to display question: will this question appear in every case?
- Only one condition required: will this question appear if one or more conditions are ticked?
- Delete the question: to delete the question and all related answers.
For example, these are the parameters we have set for this question:
- The user must answer this question to proceed with the creation of a document.
- Only one answer is possible, either “Yes” or “No”.
- This question appears in the questionnaire only if the user has ticked “Complex offer” or “Service A” in response to previous questions.
Setting restrictions relating to the question
When the 'The answer is mandatory' box is ticked, the user cannot create a document unless this question has been answered. The question is displayed with an asterisk next to it.
If the 'Multiple answers allowed' box is ticked, the user can choose more than one of the proposed answers. The boxes to tick are shown:
- as a square when several answers may be given.
- as circle when only one answer may be given.
Creating a question with conditions
The parameters can be set to display a question based on previous answers. In this case, the question will appear only if a specific earlier answer was ticked.
- Click on the question for which there should be a condition.
- Enter the keyword (response context) in the 'Display condition' field, then hit 'Enter'.
- The condition is shown in grey in the question field.
- You may enter 2 conditions for displaying the question, in which case you must decide whether to tick the box 'Only one condition is required' or not. If it is unticked, the question will be displayed only when both conditions are met. Alternatively, if it is ticked, the question will display when one or the other conditioning answers has been previously selected.
For example, here, the question “Would you like to insert an Executive Summary?” will only appear if the user has ticked “complex proposal” in response to the previous question “You are answering...”.
