Setting the MCQ answers
Below are the possible settings for an answer:
- Pre-checked answer: do you want this answer to be pre-checked?
- Delete answer: to delete the answer.
- Provides the context: to indicate the keyword of the content that will be brought into the master.
- Exclusion condition: to indicate incompatibilities between MCQ answers.
- Merge fields: to configure merge fields in the MCQ.
Pre-check answer
You can suggest a default answer to the user by ticking 'Pre-checked answer'. Users should untick this box if they do not wish to add this content to their document.
Defining display conditions (context)
Display conditions allow you to:
- Link your MCQ to the content of your master's course.
- Condition questions so that they only appear if an answer has been ticked.
You must define a keyword for each answer; this keyword will also be entered:
- In the Word Processor so that the relevant part is displayed when the answer is ticked by the user.
- In the properties of the question conditioned by this answer. Read the full article here: How to set the parameters for the MCQ questions in a Web master?
To set the context of the answers:
- Type your keyword in the 'Provides the context' field, then click 'Enter'.
- If you have already created the keywords in your word processor, just type the first few letters to get a suggestion.
- The keyword will then appear in grey in the right-hand column and framed in purple in the central section, opposite the associated answer.
NB: To avoid creating duplicates, we advise you not to use capitals and accents for your conditions.
Defining the conditions for exclusion (incompatibilities)
Exclusion conditions:
- Allow you to make several answers in your MCQ incompatible.
- They can concern several answers to the same question or several answers to different questions.
To set the exclusion conditions:
- In the 'Exclusion condition' field, select the keyword of the incompatible answer.
- The keyword then appears in grey in the right-hand column and framed in red in the central section, opposite the incompatible answer.
For example, here we have set up the following incompatibilities:
- If I tick answer ‘Short term rental’, I won't be able to tick ‘Long term rental’.
- If I tick answers ‘Long term rental’ AND ‘Purchase of vehicles’, I will not be able to tick answer ‘Short term rental’.
- If I tick answer ‘Short term rental’, I will be able to tick answer ‘Purchase of vehicles’.
Creating merge fields
Merge fields can be used to create user-customizable fields for a master.
To set up merge fields, see the full article: How to create/modify a merge field in the Questionnaire?
Changing the order of answers
In the central section, click on the arrows next to the answer you want to move:
- Top arrow, to move the answer up a notch.
- Down arrow, to move the answer down one notch.
Delete a response
- In the right-hand column, select the response you wish to delete.
- Click on 'Delete the answer'.
- The question is deleted and will no longer appear in the MCQ. The deletion is permanent.
Note: Remember to save your changes by clicking the 'Save' button in the left-hand column when taking any action in the MCQ.
Automatic saving is not available.
