How to create / copy-paste a table?

Tables in XaitProposal

XaitProposal offers two types of tables:

• Simple tables, created in a text block
• Advanced tables which offer more features

Create / modify a simple table
You can create tables in text paragraph blocks.

1. Open the block where you want to create a table to display the toolbar.
2. Position your cursor where you want to create your table.
3. Click on the icon.
4. Define the size of your table, number of rows and columns.
5. Your table is inserted into your paragraph.
6. Customize your table:
   1. Click on the 'H' icon to insert a header, which will appear in gray.
   2. Click on the icon to customize cell alignment.
   3. Click on the icons to manage rows and columns (insert, delete).
   4. Click on the trash can to delete the entire table.

NB: The formatting of your table is automatic and predefined in your page layout. This is visible when you export your document to PDF format. Therefore, you cannot customize the colors or font of your table.

Copy / Paste a simple table from an external source

You can integrate simple tables from other tools:

• Calculation formulas and formatting styles are not included.
• Tables with merged cells cannot be copied.

To copy / paste your table:

1. Select your simple table, without merged cells.
2. In your source file, select the table and copy it.
3. In your word processor, paste the table into the chosen paragraph and location.

Copy / Paste an advanced table
From XaitProposal

1. Open the block of the advanced table you want to duplicate, then click on "Copy the table"
2. Position your mouse where you want to duplicate the table, and click on the "Add a table" icon
3. The Table Plugin opens. In the table properties, click on "Paste from clipboard"
4. The table is pasted and its formatting is retained exactly. Click on "Validate" to confirm table creation

From an external source

1. In your source file, select the table and copy it
2. In your XaitProposal word processor, position your mouse where you want to paste the table, and click on the "Add a table" icon
3. The Table Plugin opens. In the table properties, click on "Paste from clipboard"
4. The table is pasted, but its formatting may not be entirely preserved.
5. Click on "Validate" to confirm table creation
