Structuring the Word document
To make it easier to import a Word document to XaitProposal’s word processor, we recommend you prepare the Word document first.
To do this, just apply Word’s pre-set styles to your content. In your Word document,
select your title, then apply the style you would like:
- Titles > Title 1 to Title 4 styles
- Text paragraph > Normal style
- Bullets > Paragraph style
For example, here, we selected the title “Our proposal” and applied the style Title 1 to identify it as the title of a section
NB :
- If you have personalised your Word styles, we recommend you go back to the default style settings in Word. Consult your IT department about this.
- When you open a document, only two Title styles are visible in the style bar. For each style you apply, the next style appears in the bar, so that when you apply Title 2 style, Title 3 style then appears and you can apply it.
Copy/Paste in word processor
- Once you’ve structured your Word document, copy it (Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C).
- In the XaitProposal word processor, place your mouse under the element where you’d like to insert your text so the floating menu appears
- Click on the icon
to create a new paragraph.
- In this new paragraph, paste the text you’ve just copied from Word (Ctrl+V).
- The structure is automatically copied and the text appears in the contents at the left-hand side of the screen.
- Images are also imported. Their default position is left aligned and at 100% size.
NB: Remember to make sure you’re in the right level in your document to copy/paste. If you want to copy an entire document, you should be positioned after the “Notebook”. If you want to copy an entire chapter, you should be positioned after the end of the previous Chapter.
