What is a tag?
A tag is a combination of two keywords that makes it easy to sort and find resources in the knowledge base.
It consists of a key and a value:
- A key (equivalent to a folder) corresponds to the root of a folder, and must be common to several values.
- A value (equivalent to a subfolder).
NB: Content can be associated with several tags, to improve filtering when searching in the knowledge base. In the example above, selecting the "paysages" value int he key "folder" and "illustration" in "type" will display all elements that contain these two tags in the results window.
Creating a new tag
You can create a newtag for existing content in the knowledge base or during its creation.
- In the "Tags" field, type the key followed by a colon ':' with no space before it, then a space followed by a value.
- Press Enter on your keyboard to validate and save the tag.
- The tag thus created appears highlighted in purple.
The left-hand column displays the tags by clicking "Show the tags".
NB: To simplify tag creation and avoid duplication, we recommend defining a rule for writing tags or establishing a thesaurus corresponding to your resource classification. For example, write keys and values in lowercase without accents.
Using an existing tag
Every tag is registered. If you type in the letters of a tag you've already created, XaitProposal will suggest tags containing those same letters. If appropriate, click on the one you like to apply it to your content.
- In the "Tags" field, type the first letters of the tag you wish to apply
- Select the appropriate tag by clicking on it.
- The tag will be automatically applied to your content.
